Blackberry Email Setup on T-Mobile

Some BlackBerry users have problems in setting up email on T-Mobile. This because they don’t know how to setup new email account and add filters. There used to be a link on the T-Mobile website and it’s no longer there. Customer service said that they "no longer support this service". It would really suck if you can't set up filters anymore or request a service book anymore.

Basically, you can access it form your device. You can go to Manage Internet Mail or Personal Email setup. If you can not find the set up new email icon try to edit an account, although if I recall correctly, you might only be able to that on the desktop version. For service books, look at Help. Once you log in on T-Mobile with your phone number and password, the menu bar up top that says "Manage/Connect and share/shop/learn/support"

Hover over connect and share and then click on "configure email" on the line that pops out underneath it.

BlackBerry Email Reconciliation Not Working

Tutorial about doing email reconciliation test on your BlackBerry handset. As stated on blackberryforums.com.au, that email reconciliation is an email reconciliation test should be run if a BlackBerry device user reports email messages that have been opened, moved, or deleted in Novell GroupWise that are not reflected on the BlackBerry device, and vice versa.

You can do this email reconciliation through several steps below:
  1. On the BlackBerry device, go to Messages, display the menu, and select Options. Select Wireless Reconcile Option and verify that the Delete On option is set to Mailbox & Handheld.Verify that the Wireless Reconcile is set to Yes.
  2. Under the General Options message list option, verify that Hide Filed Messages is set to Yes.
  3. Send 4 email messages to the BlackBerry device user with the Subject lines Test 1, Test 2, Test 3, and Test 4.
  4. Once the email messages are on the BlackBerry device, gather the RefID. To view the RefID, open the test message on the BlackBerry device, and while holding in the ALT key type in 'V' 'I' 'E' 'W'. The RefID should pop up at the top of the email. Remember, you must hold in the ALT key while typing 'view'. Document the RefID for each Test message:
    Test 1 RefID:
    Test 2 RefID:
    Test 3 RefID:
    Test 4 RefID:
  5. Once all Reference ID's have been recorded, make sure to change Test 2 and Test 4 back toMark Unopened on the BlackBerry device. The email messages were opened to get the RefID, but they need to be Mark Unopened when testing. These tests will only be opened in Novell GroupWise.
  6. Perform the following actions on the test email messages: Test 1: Open on the BlackBerry device to show read status, and leave it as unopened status in Novell GroupWise.
Test 2: Open in Novell GroupWise but leave it unopened on the BlackBerry device.
Test 3: Delete the message on the BlackBerry device and leave it unopened in the Novell GroupWise Mailbox.
Test 4: Delete the message from the Novell GroupWise Mailbox, but leave it unopened on the BlackBerry device.Do not permanently delete the email message in Novell GroupWise. It must move to the trash folder to be picked up properly during the reconcile process.
  7. Wait 25-30 minutes and then document the changes for each message. Test 1: Does this email message now show read in Novell GroupWise?
Test 2: Does this email message now show read on the BlackBerry device?
Test 3: Did this email message delete from Novell GroupWise?
Test 4: Did this email message delete from the BlackBerry device?
  8. If the email messages reconciled the changes correctly, the function is working properly and should be monitored. If after 30 minutes some items did not reconcile, please follow your appropriate support channels for investigation.
  9. The following information will be required when you contact a support associate:
  10.
    1. The full name of the BlackBerry device user the above test was performed with.
    2. The personal identification number (PIN) number of the BlackBerry device the test was performed with.
    3. The BlackBerry Device Software version on the BlackBerry device the test was performed with.
    4. The RefID values for Test 1 through Test 4. For instructions on obtaining the RefID value, see KB05477.
    5. The end results of what happened to each Test email on the BlackBerry device, and in the Novell GroupWise Mailbox after 30 minutes had passed.
    6. For messages that are deleted from the. BlackBerry device to the GroupWise mailbox, the time that appears on the BlackBerry device should be noted when performing the delete as a REFID will not be obtained.
    7. For those messages that did not update from GroupWise to the BlackBerry device, a combination of the REFID and time the update was performed in the GroupWise mailbox is required. For example:
    8.
      1. A message that was read in GroupWise shows a status of unopened on the BlackBerry device. For instructions on obtaining the RefID value, see KB05477.
      2. A message that was deleted in GroupWise shows a status of unopened on the BlackBerry device. For instructions on obtaining the RefID value, see KB05477.

    Delete BlackBerry Email Account

This tutorial is about deleting your email account from your BlackBerry handset. If you have added Gmail account to your BlackBerry and need to remove it you can use this simple tutorial.

First, the easiest way is to remove it on your provider's BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) web site. If you have an item on your BlackBerry's main screen named Personal Email Setup, you can do it from there too (it will actually just bring you to the BIS site).

You may also want to delete the associated Service Book. On the BlackBerry go to (Settings/Tools -->) Options --> Advanced Options --> Service Books. Highlight the entry with the email address you want to get rid of followed by [CMIME], Click the wheel or menu button and select Delete.

Note that just deleting the service book will NOT stop the email. Once the association is established, emails are sent to the PIN unless the service is removed from the back end. I once wiped my BB and still kept receiving my BIS email even though I didn't have the service books.

The important thing that if you don't remove the account from the BIS site the service books will be pushed back to the BB at some point (a big problem if you're selling your used BB as your buyer could end up with access to your email).

Problems in Connecting POP3 Account to BlackBerry Internet Service

Another trouble appears when connecting your POP3 account to BlackBerry Internet Service. This happens when you try to connect outlook via SMTP and POP3, but the BlackBerry Internet Service refuses to recognize the settings.

You can use these steps in connecting POP3 Account to your BIS. Now, assuming that ports are correctly forwarded from your firewall, which would seem to be the case if you've connected with a POP3/IMAP mail client external to your network, then BIS shouldn't know or care that you are splitting the jobs amongst multiple servers.

Better you would try setting up the account again in BIS. This time, however, enter the password incorrectly on purpose. This will take you to another config screen so that you can fine-tune how BIS is trying to connect to your account. Check that it's using IMAP (and is not, for example, trying to pick up your OWA account).
